Welcome!

My name is Ryan Havanas. I am an Ohio State graduate looking to contribute and make a difference with my web developer skills.
My real passion is using programming to create anything! From websites, to video games, to applications and more.

I love baseball, and I love how statistical it can be. There are tons of places I can check out stats for players over the years, but I've never seen anywhere I could see graphs. And looking at those big stat blocks can sometimes just be boring. So I made a place where you can chart players numbers over their careers with only a few clicks. Want to compare Mike Trout with Mickey Mantle? Not a problem. I reccomend you check out Brandon Guyer's Hit by Pitch numbers versus anyone else.

The RS&B Department at GOJO Industries had no easy to use system to browse for documentation on product parts. A basic ASP.NET Webpage was laid out and as part of my internship I was asked to finish the site to function as intended. I added error handling in query searches, the design/css/bootstrap, image previews of parts, and other various features. This was accomplished over the course of approxamately 1.5 week.

Position 5: Global Game Jam 2020
The Support Simulator nobody wanted!

Play as a support character fighting against the boss, except you cannot damage him. You must heal and buff your allies to win the game. The only problem? They all stink, and they all blame you for it. Fight your way through two difficulties, all while trying not to lose and get reported for AFK.

This was made in Unity, where I put together most of the scripting and gameplay. Download and play now here.

Random Item Generation Project
This is a short preview of some randomized item generation I spent some time on for a new RPG project. It is data driven, and relational, which makes it an incredibly powerful and useful tool for a Diablo or POE style loot game. New things I have since added are randomized names of items and generated stat values for item drops.

The art assests are all neat assest I found on itch.io that I found helpful for testing.

Experience

Goodyear Tire & Rubber
Position: Senior Software Engineer Analyst

As an engineer at Goodyear, I work as part of a team supporting our ecommerce websites. We work with various busniess teams to translate their needs to cloud applications and RESTful APIs. I personally lead a small team of developers to overhaul our internal API network, and work with external partners like Tesla and Valvoline to integrate our tire ordering system and data steams. My team and I also architected and implemented a total replatforming of over 8+ ecommerce websites for Goodyear and Cooper Tire.

  • Azure Cloud Services
  • RESTful APIs
  • API Architecture
  • .NET Core and Spring
